The performance \"The Silent Escape\" directed and performed by actress Oana Pellea had its first performances outside Romania, at the Capuchin Theatre. Inspired by Lena Constante's autobiographical novel of the same name, the show arrived in Luxembourg thanks to the Embassy of Romania. RoKultur asbl had the pleasure to support the organizers in this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lena Constante was a plastic artist, folklorist and one of the founders of \u021a\u0103nd\u0103ric\u0103 Theatre. He was part of the monographic teams organized by Dimitrie Gusti's sociological school. She was arrested by the Communists and sentenced to 12 years in prison, and Harry Brauner, her husband, to 15 years. Subsequently, the trial is retried and both are found innocent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Silent Escape is one of two autobiographical novels describing the experience in communist prisons, namely the 3000 days Lena Constante spent in solitary confinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
