A dream come true. The first exhibition of sewn shirts in Luxembourg by the ladies from the group Sewn Stories took place during the weekend of 28-29 June 2025. They expounded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexandra Stoian, Liliana Turliu, Mihaela Alecu, Mihaela Adina Osiceanu, Lavinia Dragu, Carina \u021aoca, Diana Mircea, Raluca Br\u00e2nzil\u0103, Georgiana Cotolan, Mirela Dragot\u0103, \u0218tefana Puiu, Camelia Constantinescu, Laura Fevrier, Raluca Caranfil and \u0218tefania Atanasiu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a weekend full of emotions and stories, of meetings with dear or unknown friends, of strangers curious to discover our culture, two days of exhibition of shirts sewn in Luxembourg, but also old collection shirts, plus the conference held by Hora\u021biu Silviu Ilea. I had a room full of people eager to listen to him tell about shirts, tradition, authenticity, meaning and who went home a little richer and with a wide smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the framework of the exhibition of Romanian shirts sewn in Luxembourg took place the conference Authenticity, Tradition, Revival <\/strong>with Dr. Hora\u021biu Silviu Ilea from the Romanian Peasant Museum in Bucharest.\u00a0Hora\u021biu Silviu Ilea was part of the committee of experts that drafted the UNESCO file \u2018The Art of Shirts \u2013 Element of Cultural Identity in Romania and the Republic of Moldova\u2019, which led to the inclusion of the Shirts with Shirts in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. At the Museum of the Romanian Peasant, Hora\u021biu Silviu Ilea takes care of the pieces of folk costume that belonged to the Royal Family of Romania, as well as over 20,000 pieces of traditional costume \u2013 shirts, catriments, feet, adornments, fur clothes or dimes. He is the author of several volumes on folk art and numerous articles published in collective volumes and specialty magazines. Hora\u021biu Silviu Ilea is a professor at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters, where he teaches the course \u2018Save the Intangible Heritage\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thank all the ladies who sewed and made this exhibition possible, all those who crossed our threshold, admired the shirts sewn in Luxembourg and listened to our stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
