There were two days full of color and craft at the egg painting workshops held by the ethnologist and museographer Sebastian Paic-Apan<\/strong> in Luxembourg in March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants in the workshops RoKultur <\/strong><\/a>they had the opportunity to learn signs and meanings, as well as waxing techniques, and at the end of the workshops they went home with small works of art. Sebastian Paic-Apan's stories have taken us to ancient times, we learned why Romanians paint eggs, what happens to eggshells after Easter, what are the meanings of some of the signs on eggs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sebastian Paic \u2013 Apan founded in 2011 \u2018Zestrea\u2019 Association<\/strong>, where he trains disciples in crafts such as: the painting of Easter eggs, the painting of icons on glass, the encrusting of wood, the making of traditional masks, opinci, cysts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to complete his egg painting technique Sebastian Paic conducted field researches in \u021aara L\u0103pu\u015fului, Bucovina, Vrancea and \u021aara B\u00e2rsei. The painting craft was learned from Professor Ioan Sorin Apan from Brasov. One of the approaches he currently emphasizes is the promotion of the variety of egg models scattered from different regions (\u0162ara B\u00e2rsei, \u021aara L\u0103pu\u015fului, Oltenia, Bucovina and Bihor).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
