"Queen Maria – A life for Romania"

On 25 October, we celebrated Queen Mary 150 years after her birth in Luxembourg. We were joined by historian Anita Sterea who delighted us with stories about the childhood, youth and life of the young princess, who became Queen of Great Romania.

We tried to bring a piece of the Queen's world closer through a small exhibition of objects from the eras she crossed and loved: Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. I smelled the Queen's perfume created especially for her by the Houbigant House, I smelled the Queen's favorite flowers, lilies, I collided a sparkling cup from the Supplier of the Royal House, I browsed the books written by the Queen or those written about Queen Mary and the Royal Family and I enjoyed the Queen Mary candies from the Capsa House.

I had the queen's favorite flowers, her Mon Budoir perfume, old objects, scarves painted by Andreea Zahn after the queen's watercolors, photos and books she wrote. But the evening would not have been complete without the froth from the Rhein Azuga Cellars 1892, the same served at the coronation of Queen Mary and King Ferdinand in 1922.

We strived to make beautiful and bring the Queen closer to those who spent the evening with us.

We invite you to take part in the event through photographs taken by David Ghisa following this link
